Lenten Devotions (Rosary for Life and Faith) Sunday 18th March, 6.00pm in St Cooey’s Oratory

We are asked to join Coastal Rosary Ireland who have selected today to pray for Ireland's unborn babies who are encircled by seemingly unbeatable forces in the form of Government, and the majority of our representatives, the media, big money. We need a miracle! We the people of Ireland need to be willing to brave the bullets and bombs of criticism and social ostracism, and our work must be rooted in prayer, both private, and in groups - the Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, fasting, sacrifices, and many, many rosaries.

We ask you to pray and fast for our Supreme Court. The State is appealing the "Humphrey Judgement" 2017 which correctly recognised the unborn as a child with rights in the Irish Constitution beyond the 8thAmendment. Our judges are being asked by the State to overturn this judgement.

Mass of Commitment for Primary 7 pupils will be held on Wednesday 21st March at 7.30pm in St Cooey’s Oratory. Everyone welcome.

The Parish at Prayer:The Holy Rosary will be offered on Thursday 22nd March at 7pm in St Cooey’s. Oratory.

During the weeks commencing Monday 12th, 19th & 26th March sick and housebound will be visited in the following areas: Park Head, Cuan Avenue, Cuan View, Cook Street, Shore Road, Steele Dickson Avenue, Steele Dickson Gardens, Cumain House, Windmill Hill, Windmill Heights, Joe Tomelty Drive.

Car Parking at St Patrick’s Church

Work has started on alterations to car parking arrangements to the two car parks nearest St Patrick’s Church. This will involve the creation of a new entrance, in the proximity of the toilet block, from the car park nearest the Church, to the largest car park. The current access near the Grotto, will be permanently closed.
The smaller car park nearest the Church will now be reserved for the use of people with disabilities and the elderly with mobility problems. There will be a set- down area and parking reserved for the priest and the sacristan. Safety barriers will also be put in place near the Nursery School to make access to and from the car park to the school, safer.
All three car parks will be marked out with white lines and there will be directional arrows marking out traffic flows. A zebra crossing will be provided from the large car park across the small car park to the Church. This should make crossing that area safer.
Pot holes in all car parks will be fixed and efforts made to alleviate the periodic flooding near the Grotto.

Volunteer for WMOF2018

The World Meeting of Families 2018 will attract thousands of Irish and International pilgrims. Organising it and seeing it through will only be possible with the help of thousands of volunteers. There are currently 1500 volunteers signed up for WMOF2018 but thousands more are needed.

Volunteer roles will include stewards, welcoming and information teams, photographers, media support, logistics, programming support and all the general day to day roles involved in running an event like the WMOF2018. One of the things the WMOF2018 is looking for volunteers to do is to help deliver the famous Irish welcome – the Céad Míle Fáilte.

Why not make volunteering for WMOF2018 a New Year’s resolution for 2018?
