The Apostolic Workers would like to thank all the parishioners who donated so generously sponsoring Sacred Vessels, and gave to our church door collection at our Annual Display which raised the magnificent amount of £2,398.00.We also appreciate the ongoing donations throughout the year from Blaney’s shop and their customers and individuals who collect in their personal mite boxes.

 

In addition to this, parishioners from our neighbouring parish of Ballygalget sponsored Sacred Vessels to the value of £840.00.

 

The Apostolic Workers are very grateful to you all for your continued support and generosity.

Faith and Life Convention

 

Bishop Treanor invites you to attend our fifth Faith and Life Convention on Saturday 29th September 2018 in Our Lady and St Patrick’s College, Knock, Belfast. Doors open at 8.45am with registration taking place from 9:00am. The Convention begins at 10:00am.

 

The Faith and Life Convention is a forum for people from across the diocese, and beyond, to gather together and to take part in a range of conversations about the meaning of faith and its relevance to every area of our lives. This year we are delighted to welcome Cardinal Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, S.D.B. as our keynote speaker.

 

In the afternoon each delegate will have the opportunity to take part in two workshops from a range of twenty seven. The workshops fill up quickly so it’s best to book now!

 

Perhaps the best part of the day is the pleasure of meeting up with a great crowd of committed people from all over the diocese and beyond.

HARVEST THANKSGIVING on Sunday 30th September at 6.30pm in Portaferry Methodist Church, Ferry Street.Singers are needed as it is hoped to have a combined choir from all local Churches to lead the singing. Choir practices on Thursday 20th; Monday 24th; and Thursday 27th September at 8.15pm. Everyone Welcome.

Healthcare Pastoral visitors' course 2018:

The next course run by the NI Healthcare Chaplains' Association (NIHCA) and Edgehill College will run for 9 weeks beginning Thurs 27th September 2018 from 7.30 - 9.30pm at Edgehill College, Belfast. The course is aimed at lay people who are interested in healthcare pastoral visitation, either within the local church context or within a chaplaincy context, or who already visit healthcare facilities such as hospitals, hospices or residential/nursing homes as part of their church responsibilities.

Cost is £75, which includes materials and refreshments each night.
